We are running an organization named MANTRALAYA MARATHWADA MANCH, in Mantralaya, Mumbai. We are celebrating Marathwada Mukti Din on 17th Sept. of evry year from last five years. Also we have arranged a get-together of Marathwada people on 18 of October,2008 with Marathwada Vikas Pratishthan, Mumbai. The venue and details of programme will be published in the local news papers. Everyone from Marathwada has welcome. The programme will be entertaining, Dance, Music and entertainment. All celebraties (Marathi) of Marathwada will be present for ceremony. We are seeking time from Makarand Anaspure and Mangesh Desai to perform.
As per our knowledge there are 15 lakhs people from Marathwada. There are some bureaucrats from Marathwada who are in top position in Govt. Offices. Some are successful businessmen, some of them are renowned journalists and there are celebraties like Makarand Anaspure, pratiksha Lonkar, Chandrakant Kulkarni, Nandu Madhav, Mangesh Desai, Vaman Kendre, Sachin Goswami, Sanjay Sugaonkar etc.
So pl come and the ceremony. We are going to publish a directory of Marathwada people which can be helpful for everyone.

MAZA MARATHWADA
Marathwada is land of saints. Marathwada means to give not to demand. This perticular area of eight districts(Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Parbhani, Osmanabad, Nanded, Latur and Hingoli) of Maharashtra has given lot of to the Maharashtra/ India / Globe also. Marathwada was the part of Hydrabad Sansthan of Nizam. We fought for independence and got freedom on 17th Sepetember,1948. Means one year and one month later independence of India.
As I mentioned above this land has given lot more to Maharashtra/India and world also. The pioneer of BHAGVAT DHARMA the prime saint Dnyaneshwar was born at Apegaon in Marathwada. Who wrote the Dnyneshwari (Bhagvat Geeta) in simple Marathi language. The Bhosla family of Hon Raje Shiv Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was originally of Verul (Ellora) only. The great Guru and political Advisor of Hon. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was saint RAMDAS was born in Jamb in Jalna district. The first Poet in Marathi MUKUNDRAJ SWAMI was from Ambajogai in Beed district and he wrote the VIVEKSINDHU. The tomb of Saint GORA KUMBHAR (GOROBAKAKA) is located at Ter in Dist Osmanabad. and Saint Janabai was from Gangakhed in dist Parbhani.
There are 3 out of 12 Jyotirlings are located in Marathwada at Parli-Vaijnath, Aundha-Nagnath and Grushneshvar at Verul. Two and half aadi shakti peeths (Devis) are also located in Marathwada at Tuljabhavani (Tuljapur-Osmanabad), Renukamata(Mahur-Nanded) and Yogeshwari (Jogai) at Ambajogai in Beed districts. Tuljabhavani was the KULDAIVAT of Chhatrapati Shivaji. Tuljabhavani gave Sword to shivaji.
Devgiri (Daulatabad) fort near Aurangabad was the capital of India in the era of Mohd. Tughlak. Even the name of Aurangabad is based on the name of Aurangzeb.
We are proud of world famous caves Verul (Ellora) and Ajanta.
This area gave support to two renowned leaders of Maharashtra i.e. Balasaheb Thakare and Sharad Pawar.
Marathwada region has its own identity, culture, heritage, history. This region believe in One language One state policy. Hence, we never claimed to be free from Maharashtra like vidarbha. The leaders of vidarbha empowered vidarbha by Nagpur Contract. But Marathwada gave unconditional support to Maharashtra.
Only one thing we lack is we are not professionals. We should organize and try to empower Marathwada and Maharashtra. We are very rich with art, heritage, culture etc. but not rich in terms of infrastucture, projects, industry, development, investement etc. So important thing is that we need to concentrate on this things. We have to unite and work for the development of Marathwada and Maharashtra.
All the political leaders in Marathwada (from all political parties) should unite on the issue of development of Marathwada region. We should do politics of developemnt. The development of Marathwada will lead you to lead India.
